Desenzano Lakeside Renovation: Local Group Supports Project Development
Finally, the lakeside promenade in Desenzano. The local merchants’ association, represented by Raffaella Visconti Curuz, president of the Ascom section, expresses full satisfaction with the commitment of the Municipal Council in renovating the lakeside façade, while encouraging careful implementation from an aesthetic, functional, and environmental perspective of the new project.
This evening, an event organized by the Administration is scheduled to present the project to the relevant categories. Certainly a significant opportunity to shed light on the initiative.
Feedback and Future Perspectives
“As a category,” explains Raffaella Visconti Curuz, “we are very interested in reordering one of the most beautiful areas of Desenzano. For this reason, we will pay utmost attention to the project as a whole.”
Over the years, many hypotheses have been proposed for a lakeside arrangement, with technical experts and administrators presenting numerous options. For various reasons, none of the projects has ever been able to take off.
In recent months, there was even speculation about promoting a ideas competition. Now, it seems the right moment to give concrete form to these ideas, with the comprehensive support of all political and civic organizations in the city.
Technical Details and Issues
“I am convinced,” resumes the president of Ascom Desenzano, Raffaella Visconti Curuz, “that the lakeside will embody the image of Desenzano. For this reason, the project’s development must pay maximum attention to the entire lakeside strip.”
The zone to be considered begins near the nursery located close to Desenzanino and extends to the parking area called Maratona.
It is unthinkable,” continues President Visconti, “to have a project that focuses solely on aesthetics without thoroughly assessing functional challenges.”
Regarding the parking issue, Raffaella Visconti clarifies: “This is a problem to be addressed upstream. That is, before constructing the lakeside itself, to avoid creating further access difficulties to the historic center.”
Environmental Issues and Development Perspectives
As for environmental concerns, the topic presents additional unknowns. Rumors suggest the construction of embankments in the lake over an area of more than 50 meters, where squares and fountains are planned, while not long ago, beaches and piers were proposed.
“These are two contrasting hypotheses,” the president specifies. “Fountains and squares, as architectural elements placed within the water, would not allow the actual enjoyment of the lake. Conversely, piers, similar to traditional ones, would ensure an optimal functional and environmental use.”
Although this Administration will only implement the initial phase,” concludes Raffaella Visconti Curuz,” it is vital that the comprehensive project considers all necessary services for the future. As a category, we will actively encourage this aspect.”
