News from Desenzano: First Bell Rings for the New Catullo Middle School Today, Tuesday, January 7, 2025, around 500 students entered the new Catullo Middle School in Desenzano, officially inaugurating the institution located on Via Michelangelo. After the Christmas holidays, the school opened its doors, having completed the internal work and arranged the furnishings, while construction on the outdoor areas continues depending on weather conditions. The establishment of the school required an investment of over 12.5 million euros and features a structure of approximately 3,600 square meters spread over two floors, with numerous classrooms, laboratories, and common spaces.
However, the day was not without challenges related to school traffic. Many parents reported significant difficulties accessing the institution due to the intense traffic that characterized the area, exacerbated by adverse weather conditions. Comments on social media highlighted delays of over 30 minutes and congestion on main roads such as Rivoltella. The municipality has attempted to enhance safety by lowering the speed limit to 30 km/h and implementing raised pedestrian crossings, but the issue of traffic, which has been evident since the first day of school, remains to be addressed.
