In Desenzano, the railway viaduct works are causing significant disruptions to traffic, with changes expected to last until 2027. The renovation project, divided into two technical lots, has already imposed a one-way system on Via Custoza and Via Bezzecca, which are crucial roads for local traffic. The municipal ordinance, which came into effect yesterday, also includes a parking ban with forced removal in the first section of Via Custoza and a mandatory right turn at the intersection with Via Marconi. These measures are necessary to facilitate the continuation of the works, aimed at upgrading the viaduct to comply with seismic regulations and addressing erosion-related issues.
The project, with a total value of 16 million euros, includes interventions such as restoring damaged surfaces and structurally reinforcing the concrete spans. Although Ferrovie dello Stato expects to complete the works by early 2027, further traffic modifications may arise due to the positioning of the pillars on Via Marconi. The relevant authorities assure that any new measures will be managed in collaboration with the Municipality to ensure the safety of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic throughout the entire construction period.
