Disabili Motori Resumes Dialogue on Malcesine Hospital Projects
After months of silence, the Disabili Motori association from the Alto Lago hospital has resumed communication. The last public statement was in February, right after the closing session of the Regional Council at Palazzo Ferro Fini in Venice.
At that occasion, the association’s leadership, which counts six hundred members, expressed their disapproval and disappointment regarding the failure to approve the regional management experimentation project concerning the Malcesine hospital. This was despite promises that still remain only on paper today.
New Structure and Interregional Projects
During these months of apparent silence, the association has reorganized itself, moving beyond local scope and gaining an interregional significance. The presidency has been reconfirmed for another five years for Roberto Bassi from Verona, assisted as vice president by Adriano Piffer from Trentino.
“The Vimercate headquarters will soon be inaugurated, complementing the office at via Brofferio 2/A in Verona, in the Porta Palio area,” explains Bassi, emphasizing how leaving the Veneto border allows the group to have a more significant influence.
“We haven’t been idle during this period,” continues the determined Piffer. “We have worked on developing therapeutic protocols and held meetings with ASL 22 and its director, Filippo Marelli. Unfortunately, the regional experimentation project related to Malcesine is still lying in the regional department’s drawers, and our feeling is that there is a lack of clarity between the ASL and the Region, or at least that is the impression they want to give.”
“I won’t hide that we are disappointed because the institutional leaders Galan, Gava, and Marelli do not give enough consideration to our association, despite the ongoing collaboration we’ve always shown towards them.”
To be fair, it is worth noting that a few days ago, the vice president and health policy councilor Fabio Gava hosted us in Verona, showing some sensitivity to our issues. Our hope is that this blessed regional experimentation project for the Malcesine hospital can be launched soon.”
