Discover Riva del Garda’s Hidden Gems with Guided Tours of Giancarlo Maroni’s Masterpieces During Spring FAI Days
Riva del Garda will host a guided tour focused on architect Giancarlo Maroni during the 2026 FAI Spring Days, scheduled for Saturday at 2:00 PM. The event, organized by FAI Alto Garda, begins at Spiaggia degli Olivi with free participation and is partially accessible; the last entry is at 4:30 PM. The tour will highlight Maroni’s works from the 1920s and 1930s, including the Vela Sailing Club, Ponale Hydroelectric Plant, and private residences such as Casa Bettinazzi and Casa Bresciani.
Maroni, born in Arco in 1893 and raised in Riva del Garda, studied in Milan, fought in WWI, and contributed to local reconstruction after the war. His collaborations include work with Gabriele D’Annunzio on the Vittoriale degli Italiani and urban planning projects for Riva, notably the division of the historic center from expansion areas. The tour is led by FAI Alto Garda guides and CFP ENAIP students from Riva del Garda.
