Don Paolo Bolognani, a Salesian and coordinator of the Salesian Educational Village in Villa Albarè, has recently been appointed Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by President Sergio Mattarella. This prestigious recognition, signed on December 27, honors Don Paolo’s commitment to supporting those in need and fighting against poverty. Known for his work with the Youth Community – Beyond Borders and the “City in Bloom” project, he has created housing opportunities for individuals in emergency situations. Additionally, he has initiated programs such as “The Solidarity Garden,” which employs adults in difficulty and refugees.
The priest, originally from Bolzano, expressed surprise at this honor, emphasizing that the credit should be shared with all the collaborators and guests of his initiatives. The mayor of Rivoli Veronese, Giuliana Zocca, described this award as “wonderful and well-deserved,” while Bruno Buratto from the Association of Recipients of Chivalric Honors praised Don Paolo as a tireless and courageous man. His dedication continues to inspire a community that benefits from his unwavering commitment.
