Donna per Donna Desenzano Promotes Recovery, Support & Community Initiatives

“Donna per donna” of Desenzano del Garda, a commendable association boasting 300 members and aiming to offer hope to women who have undergone breast cancer surgery for complete psychophysical recovery, gathered for Christmas wishes in the splendid setting of the “Monastero” restaurant in Soiano.

The festive evening featured board games, a large lottery, lots of laughter, and endless toasts. During dinner, the association’s financial report and the voting for the board, which was reconfirmed unanimously, were read. The board is composed of President Claudia Schiavi, Giovanna Bossi, Marina Brioschi, Annarita Gattazzo, Alessandra Fontana, Giovanna Rizzi, and Mariagrazia Chiarizzina.

Location and Activities

The headquarters at Via Roma 34 (telephone 030/9142545), open Tuesdays from 9 to 11 and Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m., has been welcoming and informing residents of the towns of Basso and Alto Garda since 1988, as well as those from Mantova.

“Donna per donna – explains Schiavi – supports the members in various activities: hospital visits, home assistance, opportunities to undergo physiotherapy cycles, post-operative massages at the facility. It organizes gymnastics courses, socio-cultural excursions, and the necessary procedures to obtain civil invalidity and prostheses.”

Radio Programs and Initiatives

In addition to participating biweekly in “Tempo radio” from Castiglione delle Stiviere, where listeners can directly contact oncologists and receive immediate answers, “Radio Mille Note” of Desenzano has also offered the association a radio broadcasting space.
