Drug-Sniffing Dogs Patrol in Riva del Garda

Local police drug-detection dogs carried out a targeted operation on Sunday, 9 August, across beaches in Riva del Garda, including Sabbioni, Purfina and Punta Lido, as well as the former Miralago colony area and the Parco della Pace.

The checks were conducted by the Alto Garda e Ledro local police together with the Trento local police K9 unit, with 11 officers, two handlers, and the dogs Hyper and Boti. During the service, officers found drugs in several locations and identified some individuals already observed in the preliminary phase. At the end of the operation, around 30 grams of illicit substances were recovered—partly from people under control and partly hidden among bushes, crevices, trees and structures—while the presence of many bathers did not disrupt beach access.
