Dürer Promenade: Gourmet Walk Through Arco’s Medieval Olive Groves

Similar to the now-traditional event of “Caminarmagnandoencompagnia,” which is regularly organized during the Arco carnival celebrations, the Gran Carnevale committee, presided over by the indefatigable Albino Marchi, has arranged, for this summer, a very similar initiative.

This is the “Dürer Promenade,” a gastronomic and enological walk through the olive groves and the village, along the paths described by Albrecht Dürer, the renowned German artist and engraver.

For one day (Saturday, July 7), Marchi and his team will shed their roles as courtiers of the Habsburgs and immerse themselves in the evocative medieval atmospheres, bringing along the rest of the community.

Event Details and Route

The event, organized together with the culture department, is part of “CastelFesta: polite games and castle life.”

The 5-kilometer route, set “in the gentle landscape of the ancient county of Arco,” will start at Viale delle Palme, where the first group will depart at 5:30 pm.

The last departure is scheduled for 7:30 pm, with the finish line at the gardens’ square.

The maximum number of participants is set at 2001.

Registrations can be made on the same day (from 9 am onwards) at the Apt, the Gran Carnevale committee, and the casino.

During the walk, spectators can also enjoy performances in period costumes.
