Elettric Wheels Club Unveils Solar-Powered Electric Boat at Sun Day

For the Sun Day (“Day of the Sun”), another event promoted by Elettric Wheels Club, “the club of electric wheels,” Pierangelo Giacomelli, owner of «Gardamare», will present and allow the public to try his latest creation: a boat powered by an electric motor fueled by batteries that are recharged via solar panels. This event will take place on Sunday the 18th at Porto Torchio di Manerba.

Therefore, a fully ecological and “significant” vessel. It is not a small boat like those seen on lakes across the Alps (many of which prohibit combustion engine navigation), but rather a sizable watercraft that in the near future could be available for rental.

This vessel can carry six people at a speed of ten km/h, with a range of eight hours guaranteed by buffer batteries.
