An emergency occurred on Thursday, June 12, at the Montichiari airport when a training aircraft suffered a tire blowout during takeoff. The aircraft, a Reims-Cessna F172H Skyhawk, was preparing for departure with a student pilot and their instructor on board, but the unforeseen situation forced the plane to stop before it could lift off the runway. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but the incident required the prompt intervention of emergency teams.
Gabriele d’Annunzio Airport remained closed for several hours while firefighters, who arrived on the scene with four vehicles, secured the runway and towed the aircraft to the hangar. Meanwhile, a cargo flight from Poste Italiane was forced to remain in the air until the emergency operations were completed.
