Emilia Salvatore and Pietro Rizzi Win the 29er Second National Regatta at Lake Garda
At the Second National 29er Regatta, Emilia Salvatore and Pietro Rizzi clinched first place, winning six of nine races on the lake last weekend. Victoria Demurtas and Ludovico Beretta, from the organizing club, finished second, while Luca Scopsi and Edoardo Porchera of Circolo Nautico Marina di Carrara took third. A total of 46 boats took part, with crews from Italy, Germany, Estonia and Slovenia; the Canottieri crew of Giacomo Arosio and Tito Scontrino finished 13th.
The victory doubles as a repeat win from just over a month earlier at Quartu Sant’Elena during the First National Regatta 29er. Coach Enrico Fonda noted that the pair won all four races on the opening day and will work on some aspects ahead of international events. The 29er calendar continues with the Eurocup Series at Fraglia Vela Malcesine (1-3 May) and the 3rd National Regatta at Circolo della Vela Muggia (22-24 May).
