Emilia Salvatore and Rizzi Lead at First National 29er Regatta in Quartu Sant’Elena

Emilia Salvatore and Pietro Rizzi of Canottieri Garda Salò dominated the first National 29er Regatta held March 5-8 in Quartu Sant’Elena, winning all eight races. The event featured 38 teams from across Italy, with Salvatore and Rizzi finishing ahead of Bianca Marchesini and Lucia Finato (Fraglia Vela Riva) and Giulio Mattanini and Francesco Naccari Carlizi (Yacht Club Punta Ala).

The regatta was delayed due to strong winds on the first two days but concluded successfully with favorable weather. Notable performances included Margherita Martarelli and Camilla Ceruti, who finished seventh and third among women despite early technical issues. Salvatore and Rizzi previously won in Valencia and will compete next in Carnon, France, during Easter week, with the next Italian event scheduled for April 17-19 at Riva del Garda.
