Lombardy has recently announced a significant initiative to promote energy efficiency through the renovation of public buildings, allocating a total of 33.8 million euros for the SEED PA (Sustainability and Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings) call for proposals. This program aims to enhance the sustainability of buildings and housing services in the region by integrating energy savings and the enhancement of heritage, while also increasing resilience to climate change. Applications for funding can be submitted from 12 PM on Monday, May 12, until 12 PM on Friday, August 8, 2025.
Giorgio Maione, the regional councilor for the environment and climate, emphasized the importance of this investment, noting that it will reduce CO2 emissions from renovated public buildings by at least one-third and help decrease energy costs for municipalities and tenants in public housing. The call for proposals includes two lines of investment: one dedicated to interventions on public buildings with a budget of 28.5 million euros, and the other with 5.35 million euros aimed at properties designated for Public Housing Services (SAP) managed by ALER and municipalities. The goal is to finance projects that ensure high standards of energy performance and emissions.
