The Lake Garda History Festival will take place in Salò on Saturday, July 19th at 8:30 PM, featuring a meeting dedicated to Enrico Berlinguer, a key figure in 20th-century Italian leftist politics. Historian Silvio Pons will lead the audience through an in-depth analysis of Berlinguer’s life and political legacy, who served as the Secretary of the Italian Communist Party from 1972 until his death in 1984. The event will be held in the Sala dei Provveditori at the Salò town hall and is free to attend, providing an opportunity to reflect on a political era that continues to influence current affairs.
This third edition of the festival, organized by the Centro Studi Rsi of Salò and chaired by Roberto Chiarini, will feature a total of five evenings, each dedicated to significant historical figures of the 20th century. Following the discussion on Berlinguer, there will be events with guests such as journalist Fabio Martini, who will speak about Bettino Craxi, and historian Marco Follini, who will discuss Alcide De Gasperi. The meetings will also be streamed live on the Centro Studi Rsi’s YouTube channel.
