Environmental checks in Montichiari: special waste under scrutiny

Environmental Inspections Between Montichiari and Carpenedolo: Seizures and Investigations at Two Industrial Facilities On July 4th, the Forest Carabinieri conducted an environmental inspection operation targeting two production facilities located between Montichiari and Carpenedolo. During the inspection, it was discovered that a company in the cement conglomerate sector had accumulated unauthorized special waste, including ferrous materials, demolition debris, and obsolete electrical equipment. Additionally, it was confirmed that several facilities were operating without the necessary permits for atmospheric emissions.

The most serious situation was found at the Carpenedolo facility, where approximately 50,000 cubic meters of industrial waste, primarily processing sludge, had been stored directly on the ground for years. These materials were partially covered by vegetation, and their presence indicated illegal waste management in the absence of the required authorizations. Further investigations are currently underway to assess the environmental impact and trace the company’s waste disposal chain. At the conclusion of the checks, the owner was reported to the judiciary for alleged violations related to illegal dumping and unauthorized emissions.
