In **Calcinato**, starting in August, an **environmental monitoring** campaign will be launched, promoted by ERSAF – the Regional Agency for Agriculture and Forestry Services. This initiative involves collecting soil samples from various agricultural areas within the municipality, aimed at reassuring the community about the crucial role of farmers in managing and protecting the rural environment. The municipal administration emphasizes that local agriculture is a key resource for safeguarding soil, water quality, and ecosystem balance.
The monitoring activity, as highlighted by the Councilor for Agriculture, Crafts, and Industry Gianfranco Cavagnini, adheres to current regional regulations and aims to measure nitrate and phosphorus levels in the soils. This step is essential for promoting sustainable agronomic practices that protect public health and the environment. The inspections should not be viewed as a challenge to agricultural operators but rather as an integral part of a broader strategy to ensure the quality of natural resources in the area. Cavagnini also expressed gratitude to the farmers for their willingness and collaboration in this project dedicated to enhancing the local environmental heritage.
