European Gold for Salvatore and Rizzi of Canottieri Garda Salò

European gold has been won by Emilia Salvatore and Pietro Rizzi, the crew of Società Canottieri Garda Salò, at the 29er European Championship 2026 in Lipno, Czech Republic, from 1 to 8 August. Competing in the mixed category, they finished ahead of Polish sailors Weronika Grala and Pascal Kuzmicki, placing seventh overall and first among Italian teams.

The event brought together 182 crews from 27 countries, but complicated wind conditions allowed only four of the 18 scheduled races to be sailed. For Salvatore, it is her first European title, while Rizzi adds a fifth international medal to his record.
