The incident, which developed over the past few months, attracted both local and national attention. The couple had deceived a locksmith into opening the door to the residence, claiming they had lost the keys. However, the apartment was intended for a needy family according to the municipal ranking.
The eviction was carried out on Monday, December 16, thanks to the intervention of Judicial Officers and Law Enforcement. During the operation, the woman cooperated with the agents while her husband was outside the home. Mayor Togni had previously made it clear to the couple that they had no right to the accommodation and that they would need to return the keys before any further discussion about their situation could take place.
