Exploring Garda Morainic Amphitheater’s Geology, Flora, and Fauna
How and when was the Garda morainic amphitheater formed? What are the most important aspects of its flora and fauna? Where can we observe the effects of glaciations, noting their main phases, and how can we identify the most common botanical species or the rarities covering the hills of the Garda inland area?
Organized initiatives to learn about the natural environment
Answers to these questions will be provided through a series of meetings organized by Ctg Monte Baldo and the municipal library of Cavaion, featuring experts including naturalist Daniele Zanini.
Starting tomorrow at 8:30 PM in the civic hall of Torcolo, the events aim to explore the natural environment of the Garda inland area, in particular the morainic amphitheater: two evening lectures (scheduled from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM) will cover the morphology, geological formation, and aspects of climate, flora, and fauna of the morainic amphitheater.
Guided excursions and naturalistic environments
These will be followed by four guided excursions to particular naturalistic environments and features, often threatened by the proliferation of tourist settlements. From next Sunday to mid-June, visits will include the Boscon and the Tasso valley in Cavaion, the Rocche di Garda, the Frassino Lagoon in Peschiera, and the Molini valley of Costemano.
The guided excursions will take place on Sunday mornings or Tuesday afternoons, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. For information and reservations, contact Ctg at 045.626.0228.
