Lonato del Garda is preparing to welcome an important extension of the district heating network, a project managed by ENGIE SERVIZI S.P.A. The works, which are about to begin, will involve the area between via Sorattino and via Antiche Mura, with the aim of extending the existing pipelines.
The intervention is an integral part of the redevelopment works already underway in via Gerardi and involves connecting the district heating system to significant structures such as Palazzo Zambelli and the Oratorio Paolo VI, as well as some private buildings located in via Girelli and via Antiche Mura.
The operations necessary for the construction of the network will include several key phases:
– Removal of the road surface: It will be necessary to remove the pavement and curbstones that interfere with the path of the new pipelines.
– Trench excavation: Excavation will follow to prepare the bed for the pipelines.
– Installation of pre-insulated pipes: Two specific pre-insulated pipes for district heating will be installed, along with ducts for signal cables.
– Construction of manholes: Manholes will be built to accommodate interception valves and facilitate cable pulling.
– Underpasses or overpasses for subservices: Where necessary, underpasses or overpasses will be created to manage any interference with other underground services.
– Restoration of the road surface: Once the pipes are laid, the road surface will be restored.
The system will be equipped with an advanced electronic device that allows continuous monitoring of the pipes, detecting water infiltration and locating any faults.
To allow the works to be carried out without obstacles, some temporary modifications to the road network will be introduced until August 2, 2024:
– Via Sorattino: In the section between the intersection with via Marconi and Corso G. Garibaldi, there will be a ban on transit and parking (with forced removal) for all vehicles except those of the executing company and residents. Pedestrian access to the houses will still be guaranteed. Vehicles coming from the north will be directed towards via G. Marconi and via Parolino.
– Via S. Giuseppe: In the section between the intersection with via Cenedella and Corso G. Garibaldi, transit will be prohibited for all vehicles except residents, who will be able to exit their homes by driving in the opposite direction. Vehicles coming from via Cenedella will be diverted towards via Tarello.
– Piazza Donatori del Sangue: Ten parking spaces facing via Montebello (excluding the one reserved for disabled people) will be subject to a ban on parking with forced removal, except for the executing company.
