In recent days, extraordinary checks coordinated by the Police Headquarters of Brescia have taken place in the main centers of the province, including Desenzano del Garda and Manerba, to enhance security in anticipation of the increase in summer tourist influx. Initiated by Chief of Police Paolo Sartori and in collaboration with the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security, a plan was implemented that involved all law enforcement agencies, with patrols and eight checkpoints established along the main roads.
The operations aimed to combat issues such as drug trafficking and irregular immigration. At the conclusion of the checks, 19 expulsions were ordered via Fogli di Via for individuals with criminal records, 3 Oral Warnings were issued for individuals deemed socially dangerous, and 6 expulsions were enforced for irregular foreign nationals, who must leave Italy within seven days.
