On Saturday, March 29th at **5:30 PM**, the **Salòtto d’autore** will host the presentation of the book “The Pope Must Die” by author and journalist from **Il Fatto Quotidiano**, **Ezio Gavazzeni**, at the Library of **Salò**. During the event, Gavazzeni will engage in a discussion with Roberta Ghirardi to illustrate the contents of his work, which is based on over **400 documents** from intelligence services and various Italian institutions, reconstructing the history of the assassination attempt on Karol Wojtyła that took place in May 1981. The research highlights the threats received by the Polish pope from the Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia (ASALA) and the involvement of international operations managed by the Vatican, the Italian government, and the United States.

In recent days, the book has attracted the attention of the parliamentary commission investigating the case of Emanuela Orlandi, which has requested Gavazzeni’s testimony to further explore the topics addressed. Admission to the event is free until seating is full, providing a unique opportunity for history and current affairs enthusiasts.
