Fair of Agriculture and Crafts Kicks Off with Exhibitions and Events

The 79th Fair of Agriculture, Crafts, Industry, and Food and Wine, organized by Pro loco, Comune, and local business categories, opens tomorrow and will run until Monday.

Tomorrow (Friday), the event begins at 9 p.m. with «Dancing Under the Stars», a music and ballet performance in Piazza Carlo Alberto.

The opening of the exhibitions is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. at the ‘Collodi’ elementary school. In this space, a display will be set up featuring the Creative Artisans of Villa Gritti and artists such as sculptor and painter Antonio Finardi.

At the same venue, curious visitors and industry professionals (the latter will have a dedicated moment at the fruit and vegetable market at 6:30 p.m.) will be able to view around fifty new early-ripening peach varieties in the pomological exhibition, organized with the collaboration of the Agricultural Inspectorate.

Highlights and Initiatives of the Fair

Among this year’s novelties is the relocation of part of the exhibition area into a marquee set up in Piazza della Repubblica (the funfair is moved to an area that will become a future parking lot), and the opening of a dedicated space, «The Flavors Square», for evening tastings of typical products in Piazza Garibaldi.

While artisans await the national President of Confartigianato at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday to commence work in the crafts zone, on Sunday, bakers will showcase their products during the 17th edition of the category’s festival.

Other events include: the 10th Bocce Trophy final on Saturday at 3 p.m., the 1st Team Palio Trofeo Nodo d’Amore on Saturday at 8 p.m. in Piazza Carlo Alberto, evening musical performances, flowered balcony contest, and the spectacular fireworks display closing the event.
