Fake Carabinieri Call Scams Targeting Garda Businesses Clampdown

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigades, or Municipal Police.

Identifying the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or ones that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.
