Fake Carabinieri Scams Targeting Garda Hoteliers and Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the military.

These are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be attentive and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you sense you have been targeted by individuals who,

would need money, and then disappear.
