Fatal cyclist accident on SP11 between Affi and Rivoli
A fatal accident occurred yesterday afternoon, Sunday, September 7, on the SP11, in the stretch between Affi and Rivoli Veronese. A 51-year-old cyclist, identified as Paolo Cesolini, lost his life after being struck during a violent collision between two cars. The incident took place shortly after 2:30 PM, and initial reports suggest that the vehicles collided head-on for reasons yet to be determined, resulting in the tragic impact on the man.
Emergency services were activated immediately, and two ambulances along with a medical car from the 118 emergency service arrived at the scene. Despite prolonged attempts by the medical personnel to revive the cyclist, all efforts proved futile due to the severe injuries sustained. The four occupants of the cars involved suffered varying degrees of injuries; none are reported to be in life-threatening condition, but they were transported under yellow code to the hospitals in Negrar and Peschiera del Garda for further evaluation.
