On the weekend of March 15 and 16, 2025, the Under 14 Regional Fencing Championship took place at the Palagorle in Gorle, in the province of Bergamo, where 653 athletes from all over Lombardy competed in the disciplines of Foil, Epee, and Sabre. Among the participants, Mattia Salvatore, an athlete from Libertas Scherma Salò, stood out by winning the title of Regional Champion in the Boys’ Foil category for the third consecutive year, defeating Giorgio Cafiero in the final with a score of 15 to 3.
In addition to Salvatore, other team members also achieved significant results: Alessandro Molteni reached the semifinals in the Youngest Foil category, securing third place on the podium. Umberto Aime and Simone Fiocca finished among the top eight in the same category, while Giorgio Giovanni Calderara achieved a commendable placement in the Boys’ Foil. The team was accompanied by coaches Alessandro Bacci, Martino Minuto, Massimo Calderara, and Alessandro Caporella. The next commitment for the athletes of Libertas Scherma Salò will be the second national competition in Rovigo.
