Feralpi Siderurgica and gender equality: an example of workplace inclusion

Feralpi Siderurgica has recently achieved the UNI/PdR 125:2022 certification for its Gender Equality Management System, a significant recognition that attests to the company’s commitment to gender equality and workforce inclusion. This milestone, certified by Bureau Veritas Italia, is the result of a journey that began with the integration of anti-discrimination principles into the Code of Ethics and has developed through targeted policies and initiatives, such as the establishment of a dedicated managerial structure. The aim has been to make workplaces not only accessible but also safe and inclusive, promoting growth opportunities for women and ensuring pay equity. The Vice President of Feralpi Group, Cesare Pasini, emphasized that equity is a central element of the company’s strategy, essential not only for ethical reasons but also as a key factor for the long-term sustainability of the group. Claudia Strasserra from Bureau Veritas Italia highlighted the symbolic significance of the company’s commitment in a traditionally male-dominated sector, while Paola Corna Pellegrini from the Winning Women Institute remarked that this certification represents a concrete step towards new opportunities and a more inclusive future competitiveness.
