Ferrara’s Majestic Horse Chestnut Undergoes Pruning to Preserve and Stabilize
A large horse chestnut tree in Parco Bassani was pruned and stabilized on February 28 by Green Garden Bardolino, following a report by agronomist Valentin Lobis. The 25-meter-tall tree, with a nearly five-meter circumference, underwent crown reduction, branch shortening, lateral branch thinning, and trunk refinements to ensure safety.
The operation, completed the same day, involved municipal officials and was overseen by Environment Councillor Simone Corradini, who emphasized the importance of safeguarding the tree as part of the park’s natural heritage. The tree remains within Parco Bassani after the intervention.
