Ferrari F399 Driven by Schumacher to Debut at Desenzano Event
It’s official: Saturday morning, July 22nd, in Piazza Malvezzi in Desenzano, among the 60 Ferraris participating in the first edition of «Symbol&Symbol», will also be the fantastic and marvelous F 399 driven by Michael Schumacher. The confirmation came yesterday, very welcome and perhaps a bit unexpected, directly from Maranello to the president of the Ferrari Onwer’s Club, Bressanelli, via Luca Matteoni, president of Ferrari Club d’Italia. Although the presence will be limited in timing—since the car will arrive in Desenzano directly from Maranello around 9:30 AM and leave shortly after 1 PM—it will nevertheless provide a charge of emotion and interest.
Presence and significance of the event
This is one of the very few official outings of this car, the 1999 world champion. An occasion that is granted exclusively for official events: seven times per year in Italy (excluding this one in Desenzano), and also during official international outings— specifies Luca Matteoni. The lake of Garda, and Desenzano in particular, was deemed of such importance that it warranted the display of the F 399. Naturally, the car will be closely monitored during its stay.
Collateral events and exhibitions
Not to be overlooked is the presence, in the nearby Old Port, of 40 splendid vessels, a pride of the global nautical industry, from the Sarnico Riva shipyards, and beneath the portico of the tourism palace, the static display by the 6th squadron of Ghedi, which will showcase images, videos, scale models, and flight and combat suits, as well as a real Tornado engine—one of the legendary aircraft.
Detailed program
The «1st International Meeting Riva & Ferrari Owners» will kick off tomorrow evening, Friday, at the Sesto Senso club, with Alba Parietti serving as godmother.
Saturday morning will see the arrival of the F399 and the participating Ferraris in Piazza Malvezzi, as well as the Riva boats in the Old Port.
At 1 PM, transfer to Marina West Garda in Padenghe for a buffet, followed by an exhibition at 4 PM in Sirmione, at the port and in the square in front of the majestic Scaliger castle.
In the evening, the event will continue at the Parco Giardino Sigurtà in Valeggio for the gala dinner.
Sunday morning will feature a parade along the lakefront in Desenzano, and at 1 PM, the event will close with the presentation of commemorative plaques marking the 1st edition of «Symbol&Symbol».
