Fidal Launches “Play-Fun-Athletics” Initiative with Gardaland Support
CASTELNUOVO – “Play-Fun-Athletics”. The Fidal (Italian Athletics Federation), with the patronage of the Ministry of Education, University and Research and in collaboration with the Gardaland Amusement Park, presents a new initiative to promote athletics among young people in the compulsory school age range.
“Play-Fun-Athletics” represents a playful-motor exercise, which, starting from the basic movements of running, jumping, and throwing and using specialized equipment, leaves room for teachers’ discretion and students’ imagination.
The project, developed at an international level, will be introduced by the federation’s president Gianni Gola, by former high jump star Sara Simeoni, responsible for the Promotion Division of Fidal, and by Elio Locatelli, area coordinator of the World Athletics Federation, in a meeting scheduled for: Tuesday, September 25th, at 4:00 PM, at the Laser Theater in the Gardaland Amusement Park.
The Role of Gardaland and School Initiatives
For years, Gardaland has been a supporter of sports highly appreciated by young people — from basketball to skiing to ice disciplines — through the Prezzemolo Award. On this occasion, Gardaland is the welcome partner of the Italian Athletics Federation.
The Number 1 Amusement Park in Italy aims to support healthy and positive leisure, a festive atmosphere, and the social aspect of competition among classmates and teammates that sport fosters.
Thanks to the activities of the “Projects to Know” educational section, Gardaland has developed several initiatives aimed at elementary and middle school students.
New for the next school year is the path entitled “Discovering a Lost Era,” inspired by the new attraction “Escape from the Dinosaur Island”.
Led by a paleontologist from the Educational Museum Association, children will undertake a lengthy time jump, reaching back 70 million years, where they will observe various reptiles, including the famous dinosaurs: 45 minutes of full immersion in a distant world, yet one that remains current and fascinating.
This year, Gardaland has dedicated a new attraction to elementary school children: “Fantasy Kingdom”.
It is the largest themed area in Europe (12,000 square meters), entirely conceived and built by Gardaland, with five attractions and two themed shops.
“Fantasy Kingdom” is a Park within a Park, a dream world dedicated to children and their parents, but also to all those who want to keep dreaming and sharing unforgettable emotions.
Due to its variety of structures and the quality of its scenography, it is one of the most significant achievements Gardaland has undertaken in recent years.
