Fire at Monte Brione Burns 500 Square Meters of Woodland

A wildfire broke out on Monte Brione during the night between Thursday, 6 August, and Friday, 7 August, with the alarm raised at 23:35 in Riva del Garda. Firefighters from Riva del Garda were dispatched along with volunteer units from Arco, Tenno and Molina di Ledro, as well as a district inspector. The blaze affected an estimated 400–500 square meters of vegetation.

Operations were hampered by wind and by the fire’s remote location, away from the road and reachable only by off-road vehicles, which also complicated water transport. At 03:05, the flames were declared under control. Crews then continued with mop-up and safety measures, including cutting hazardous plants and creating firebreak trenches to prevent the fire from reigniting.
