A fire in Arco destroyed a lumber depot during the night between Friday, the 27th, and Saturday, the 28th, in the industrial area of Via Fornaci. The alarm was raised when a thick column of smoke rose into the sky, visible from a great distance, prompting residents to contact emergency services. The flames, fueled by logs and highly flammable equipment stored in the area, spread rapidly, causing significant damage to the structure and the machinery present.
The Arco firefighters, supported by colleagues from Riva del Garda and reinforcements from Trento and other volunteer units, responded promptly to extinguish the fire. The firefighting operations lasted several hours, while law enforcement isolated the area to begin investigations into the possible cause of the blaze, which remains unclear. Despite the severity of the situation and the considerable material damage, no injuries have been reported.
