Fire in the historic center of Lazise: a 72-year-old woman dies

A dramatic fire struck this morning in the historic center of Lazise, specifically in piazzetta Beccherie, resulting in the death of a 72-year-old woman and injuries to her brother, who suffered from smoke inhalation. Firefighters responded promptly to the scene of the incident, where the flames were still active; thanks to their efforts, the blaze was quickly contained. During their inspections, the lifeless body of the elderly woman was found in the bedroom, which had been severely damaged by the fire.

The victim’s brother, although not in life-threatening condition, was rescued and taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The area affected by the fire has been declared uninhabitable, and experts are proceeding with safety operations. The entire apartment has been placed under seizure to allow for the investigation into the causes of the fire, which is currently being examined by fire department technicians and forensic officers from the carabinieri.
