The Firefighters of Brescia have declared a state of agitation to highlight serious structural and organizational deficiencies that compromise the effectiveness of rescue services in the province. Major trade unions, including CGIL FP, FNS CISL, UIL PA, and USB, have expressed concerns regarding inadequate personnel and funding, urging immediate action from the relevant authorities. The unions’ communication emphasizes the importance of providing workers with a safe and state-of-the-art operational environment, underscoring the need to address modern challenges such as hydrogen trains in Val Camonica and firefighting operations on Lake Garda.
The press release also highlights general disorganization within the Command, raising doubts about the management of administrative offices and the lack of adequate spaces for operational headquarters. Firefighters’ representatives are calling for a significant increase in personnel and greater financial resources from the Regional Directorate of Firefighters in Lombardy, which has been accused of allocating insufficient funds for the enhancement of the Brescia structure. “We will not accept bureaucracy or incompetence,” the unions state, appealing to public opinion and political figures to advocate for their demands.
