On February 20, 2020, the first Covid-19 infection in Italy was diagnosed at the hospital in **Codogno**, marking the beginning of a pandemic that profoundly impacted the national healthcare system. Five years later, the **National Day of Healthcare and Social Care Personnel** is once again celebrated, serving as an important occasion to recognize the commitment of **healthcare workers** who faced the health emergency. Antonio Ferro, the general director of the Provincial Health Services Agency of Trentino Apss, emphasized the importance of valuing personnel through concrete measures, highlighting how these professionals represent the “beating heart” of the system.

At the national level, celebrations took place at the Sistine Wards of the Santo Spirito hospital in Sassia, Rome, focusing on the theme “Renewal of Professions for a New Healthcare.” Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni underscored the value of healthcare professions as a cornerstone of the National Health Service. During the official speeches, the need for investment in continuous training to tackle the future challenges of community healthcare emerged. Minister Orazio Schillaci concluded by thanking all health professionals for their ongoing commitment to ensuring the health of Italians.
