Solidarity is once again on display in Lonato del Garda with an important food collection initiative. On Saturday, September 21, the Leone Shopping Center will host an event dedicated to generosity, aimed at supporting two local organizations that are on the front lines in the fight against poverty.
Event Details
The event will take place from 9 AM to 7 PM and will see the active participation of volunteers from the Italian Red Cross – Garda Bresciano Committee and the La Sorgente Social Cooperative from Montichiari. These groups are dedicated to providing assistance to families in need by collecting essential goods. Volunteers will be present on the ground floor, in front of the supermarket checkout area, to receive donations of non-perishable food items such as pasta, rice, canned goods, oil, and milk. Personal hygiene products and specific items for children will also be accepted.
Side Activities
Throughout the day, a free face painting service for children will be available from 3 PM to 6 PM, managed by a volunteer from the Red Cross. This activity is designed to entertain the little ones while their parents contribute to the collection.
The Value of Solidarity
Angela Berto, the shopping center director, emphasized the importance of keeping this tradition alive: “As autumn approaches, the appointment with solidarity returns to Leone once again. It is crucial to continue these types of initiatives so that the involved organizations can rely on a steady supply.” The director also expressed confidence in the generosity of the shopping center visitors to support this significant cause.
This initiative represents an opportunity not only to make a tangible contribution but also to raise awareness within the local community regarding issues of poverty and social assistance in the Garda area.
