An event dedicated to Franz Kafka will take place on Saturday, November 8, at the Fraglia della Vela, where curators Sergio Comini and Lorenzo Gafforini, along with translator Lidiiia Astapenko, will present the book “Franz Kafka. Gli aeroplani a Brescia,” published by Compagnia della Stampa in 2025. The graphic novel explores Italy’s first air circuit in 1909, an event that attracted a large crowd to Montichiari and featured notable figures such as Gabriele d’Annunzio and Giacomo Puccini. The story begins when Kafka, on vacation in Riva del Garda with two friends, decides to attend the races after reading about them in “La sentinella bresciana.” The work not only narrates the excitement surrounding emerging aviation but also captures the beauty of Brescia, from its historic alleys to the train station, through the illustrations of artist Von Wolzogen. The event is scheduled for 4 PM with free admission. Italian Version
