A fraudster active in the pellet sales business has been arrested by the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Pordenone. He is Massimo Metelli, a 51-year-old resident of Bedizzole, already known to law enforcement and wanted for a fraud that occurred in December 2021. The man had posted an online advertisement promising pellets at an advantageous price, deceiving a citizen from the province of Pordenone who paid 600 euros via Postepay for the purchase of four pallets. However, the material was never delivered, and subsequent promises of a refund turned out to be false.
The Carabinieri’s investigation revealed further deceptions by Metelli, who persuaded the victim to send an additional bank transfer of 150 euros. Ultimately, the arrest of the man led to his transfer to the Brescia Canton Mombello prison, where he will serve a definitive sentence of 3 years and 11 months for the pellet fraud and other prior crimes.
