Fraudsters Impersonate Authorities to Staff with Fake Magazine Offers

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not soldiers, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
