Fraudsters Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Phone Scams

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the military.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
