Fraudsters Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality‘s officers.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

So, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri by dialing 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
