Fraudsters Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda area, offering subscriptions to weapon magazines.

They are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or to the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be careful and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
