Fraudsters Impersonating Carabinieri Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, at various times, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, firefighters, or the municipal officers.

Recognizing scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the Carabinieri — just call 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, if they had money, no longer show themselves.
