Fraudulent Calls: Carabinieri Impersonators Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making telephone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality‘s police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the authorities.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
