Fraudulent Calls Impersonating Carabinieri in Garda Area

They pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to militia newspapers.

They are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune fire department.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, no longer make their presence known.
