Fraudulent Calls: Impersonators Pretending to Be Carabinieri in Garda

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to army’s magazines.

These are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those with no relation to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately alert the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
