Fraudulent Calls: Scammers Pretending to Be Carabinieri in Garda Area

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or city police department.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or ones that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
