Funding for Culture: Brescia in the Spotlight with Ten Projects

The Lombardy Region has recently funded 10 projects in the Brescia area through its call for educational and cultural promotion, with a total investment of 233,120 euros. Among the beneficiaries are significant local entities such as the prehistoric sites of Valtenesi, the libraries of Calvagese and Pozzolengo, and the Ecomuseum of Botticino. The regional councilor for Culture, Francesca Caruso, emphasized that these initiatives not only protect cultural heritage but also enhance accessibility and innovation across various fields, from archaeology to library resources.

Among the most notable projects is a grant of 17,100 euros for archaeological research in Prevalle, where remains linked to Neanderthal Man have been discovered, along with resources allocated for transforming libraries into multifunctional cultural centers in several municipalities. Additionally, a funding of 11,400 euros is set aside to promote the historical route via Karolingia in the Upper Camonica Valley, aimed at fostering sustainable and inclusive tourism. These efforts represent a clear strategy by the Region to strengthen culture as a common good in the Brescia area.
